Moon Rise City Reunites to Release Groovy, Modern-Retro "Summertime"After Indy Laville's Return from WOMAD

Rising by the Saigon night, Moon Rise City was formed by South African singer-songwriter Lauren Tracy and French/Vietnamese musician Indy

Laville. Following his return from performances on the European summer festival circuit and the likes of WOMAD (UK), the duo is back and embracing

their authentic style. Reimagining classic jazz and soul tunes alongside modern originals influenced by artists like Benny Sings, The Villagers, and Holy Hive.




Their indie-pop-jazz-esque single, Summertime, drops in South African springtime. A feel-good, laid-back vibe invites you to enjoy a slice of summer no matter where in the world you are!

Now, Moon Rise City is ready to unveil a new season!


PRESENT: Moon Rise City taps into the nostalgia of George Gershwin’s iconic 1935 jazz

classic, transforming it to their groovy indie-pop rendition. Infused with Laville's guitar

prowess, Tracy's soulful vocals, and their suave arrangement of groovy basslines, lush synths, and percussion.


FUTURE: Moon Rise City has some exciting plans, with a new single dropping each month from October through December, leading to their second EP, Old Soul New Tricks, in January 2025.


Following the EP, they plan to tour across Vietnam and hope to bring their intimate shows to South Africa and Europe in 2025.
