Ain't it Strange? Only time will tell that we're never going to be the same.

Moon Rise City's "Ain't it Strange" was written for a friend going through hardship. Mirroring our own need for tender, gentle love and care.

It's an ode to close connections, your relationship with yourself, and the profound acceptance that nothing is permanent. The only constant in life is CHANGE.

Modern Eclectic, with intimate vocals, a mellow groove, lush guitars & swaying synths. Mellow mood to soothe a weary soul. A gentle reminder that change is inevitable. And with change comes hope and transformation.

"There is a strange sense of comfort in understanding that the only constant in life is change itself. We are all in it together.

I was studying Philosophy of Religion at the University of Cape Town when I wrote the song. A close friend of mine was suffering a loss and I wrote it for him.

The song's message was influenced by Buddhist and Taoist wisdom I was discovering at the time. Life is a balance of opposites: night and day, old and young, happiness and sadness, life and death. The philosophy that all physical and emotional states are in flux. Clinging to things that you can't change, or denying your emotions, causes suffering.

Accepting change is transformational and allows you to be in the present moment. We all have to face loss and change in our lives. It's a profound memoir of what it means to exist. I hope this song can give hope & comfort for anyone going through hardship."
